Back on Track | Insanity

Havn’t been on here in awhile so I figured it would be time for an update. I have stopped working out with Insanity. Not because i didn’t like it or because it was to hard. Actually “life” got in my way. With having to get up at 6am for work and not getting home until after 6 pm most days if has been hard to have the time to do anything. On top of that I have two kids and my husband plays softball two to three nights a week. So my time is short. What I have decided to do now is cut my workout down to 2-3 days a week. This will make my workouts much more managable.

I have noticed more and more people are combining Insanity with P90X. What I am going to do is combine it with Chalean Extreme. What I will be doing is 2 days of resistance training from Chalean Extreme and 1 day of cardio from Insanity. I am not expecting awesome results in a short amount of time, to be honest any amount of workout is better than none right.

Insanity Fit Test & 15 Day Results

Well guys/gals its hard to believe it has been two weeks since I started Insanity. The first day of Insanity I did the fit test and now two weeks later I did it again. The goal during the fit test is to increase your numbers each time you do it. Well, I did that except on the switch kicks. I will conquer them next time! Here are my results, the first set of numbers are from day 1 and the second set is from today, day 15.

Fit Test #2 Results:

Switch Kicks – 65 – 63
Power Jacks – 38 – 40
Power Knees – 53 – 65
Power Jumps – 25 – 29
Globe Jumps – 5 – 7
Suicide Jumps – 6 – 10
Push-up Jacks – 7 – 9
Low Plank Obliques – 36 – 40

I also recorded my measurements for day 15. I wanted to compare them to when I started. I have noticed a difference in my ability to keep up with Shaun T. I thought it had greatly improved, until I took a peek at next months workouts. I about fell out of my chair. He gives a new meaning to insanity. The workouts get harder and longer. I pray I can keep up.

My Day 15 Result:

Weight – 118.5 – 118.5
BF% – 28 – 24
Waist – 30 – 29.5
Hips – 35.75 – 35
R Thigh – 21 – 20.75
L Thigh – 21 – 21
R Calf – 13.5 – 13
L Calf – 14 – 13.5
Chest – 33 – 32.75
R Bicep – 10.75 – 10.5

Insanity (Day 5 to 10 of 60)

Hey everyone. I’m back. It’s been a hectic couple of days and I apologies for not blogging everyday. I have found a couple of things helpful from these previous workouts.

1. I was having a problem with crashing after my workouts, so I tried the recovery drink during one workout. This helped to refuel during the workout so I did not crash afterwards.

2. I was burning about 350 calories per workout, which I thought was great. However, when I checked my heartrate zones on beachbody’s website, I was shocked what I found. For the most part, I was in my recovery zone, when I should have been in the aerobic zone. Guess it is time to ramp it up. Bring on the Insanity!

3. This one is a side note about my diet. I thought that I was eating fairly healthy for lunch, but the deli sandwich that I was eating was almost 600 calories. It had 45 carbs and 29 fat grams. Talk about insane. Now I pay very close attention to the nutritional facts.

Insanity has some crazy routines but has gotten me motivated to exercise again. I plan to ramp things up to have insane results by day 60. Stay tuned to see.

Insanity Cardio Recovery (Day 4 of 60)

Today’s workout was a much need break from previous 40 minute cardio routines. It was recovery day. This video was lost of stretching, lunges, and squats. Don’t misunderstand me, it is still a difficult 30 minutes. At some points, Shaun T has you hold your lunge or squat for up to one minute. He also incorporates some yoga into the video. By the time I was done my legs were like jello.

Cardio Recovery Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 124
Average Heart Rate –102
Calories Burned – 137

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 1198

Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance (Day 3 of 60)

I know it has been a couple of days since my last blog, but it is not because I have not been exercising. I did do the third day which was the cardio power & resistance. In this workout you should be ready to hit the floor. You spend about half of your workout there. I never knew you could do pushups in so many different ways. I am sore from head to toes!

Till Tomorrow…..

Cardio Recovery Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 162
Average Heart Rate – 133
Calories Burned – 355

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 1061

Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit (Day 2 of 60)

Wow. What can I say about this workout except EXTREME. The moves in this workout are not complicated at all you just need to be prepared for your feet to leave the floor, hense “plyo” or jump training. This workout introduces you to max interval training, Shaun will have you workout at top capasity for 3 minutes and rest for only 30 seconds only to hit it hard again. It takes 40 minutes and was quite happy that I wasn’t the only one clapsing on the floor (people in video were too). I have noticed that with this video and the fit test that I started to crash right after I was done. Tomorrow I am going to try to drink the recovery drink during the workout. I’ll let you know how that goes.

Here are My stats for Plyo Cardio Circuit:

Max Heart Rate – 173
Average Heart Rate – 145
Calories Burned – 445

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 706

See you tomorrow…

Insanity Fit Test (Day 1 of 60)

So yesterday I began this “insane” journey. I totally agree with my husband who says that Insanity is not just a clevor name. The Fit Test is day 1 and it takes 25 minutes. There are a series of moves, which I have listed below, that you see how many you can do in one minute. About every two weeks you take it again. It should be interesting to see the results in two weeks.

Here are my stats for Fit Test Day 1

Switch Kicks – 65
Power Jacks – 38
Power Knees – 53
Power Jumps – 25
Globe Jumps – 5
Suicide Jumps – 6
Push-up Jacks – 7
Low Plank Obliques – 36

Max Heart Rate – 179
Average Heart Rate – 140
Calories Burned – 261

Till tomorrow….
